Rick St. Dennis's Lady Nouveau-Anything goes challenge

It's been a while since I've blogged, I have so many projects in the works, but had to stop and work on this one for the Sparkle and Glitter challenge here: http://sparkleandglitterwithrick.blogspot.com/p/rsd-september-2014-progressive-challenge.html
I enjoy coloring Rick's images as they are challenging. They push me to new lengths, especially with folds.  This beauty is no different, Lady Nouveau, she can be found in Rick's Zibbet shop here: https://www.zibbet.com/rick1949/lady-nouveau-digi-stamp.  I used Copics to color her: E50, E51, E11, E93 and R11 for her skin, Y21 and E84 for her hair, BG15, BG49 and BG79 for her clothing, RV66 and RV69 for the roses and a gelly roll silver pen for the highlights. I used a template with V99 to airbrush the background on Classic Columns card stock, sprayed a silvery shimmers over the template as well .  I felt she had a magical appeal about her so I added a sentiment from an Anna Griffin sticker pack.  Hope you like her!

Helen

Christmas at Ike'sworld Challenge page

I'm not one to really start working on Christmas so early in the year.  Inspiration escapes me as well as thoughts of Christmas making me a tiny bit sad.  Christmas was my mother's favorite holiday, but I'm sure she'd want me to keep the torch going for her love of the holidays even if it is summer. :)  The image I used is Holly from Ike's Art which can be found here: http://www.ikesart.com/#!__digital-art-stamps  I am entering this one in the Ike'sworld Christmas in June challenge found here: http://ikesworldchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/
I colored her up with Copics.  I used E11, E21, YR00, YR000 and E04 for her skin, YR21 and YR24 for her hair and YG61 any G94 for the holly wreath on her head and R29 for her lips.  Hope you like!  I appreciate any and all comments you leave.  Thanks in advance for the love! Happy 4th everyone!

Hugs,
Helen

Bride of Frankenstein- Patch it up challenge

Hello Blog friends,
This is my entry for the Simply Steampunk Challenge for the Patch it up theme.  You can find the challenge blog here, http://simplysteampunkchallenges.blogspot.com/.  Hope you would come along and play. The image is The Bride of Frankenstein from Simplybstamps.net drawn by the amazing Abigail Larson.  I used some fun handmade papers with stitching on them and couldn't help but use my own sentiment.  She's colored up with Copics and has some added steampunk accents to give her a nice vintage feel.  Hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by! :)

Fish Swirl Mermaid Betty-GCC0505

I haven't blogged in a while, things have been rather hectic in my house.  We lost my dear mother in law on April 26th, had a surgery on the 28th and funeral the day after.  Life has a way of just moving on with or without you.  I am finally getting my creative bug back so yesterday I went to a demonstration at Blick art supply for Pebeo products and had so much fun.  I learned how to use resins, vitreal and some other fun paints.  I also picked up some texture gel that looks like sand.  I love my mermaid images and oceanic scenes so this stuff really sang to me.  I decided to have a play with Fish Swirl Mermaid Betty from SimplyBstamps.net and I wasn't disappointed.  I colored the mermaid and fish with my Copic markers then went over the entire image with water color paints and added an ocean floor with the pebeo texture gel and mica chips.  I drew in some ocean leafy greens then put some glass bead gel over the sentiment to keep with the oceanic theme.  I've really started to expand my horizons lately and have been playing with mixed media.  I think my inner artist is deciding to come out and play.  I also used liquid pearls in her hair and on her tail.  As always comments are welcomed and appreciated.  Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Helen

Boudoir Betty Collection

Hello my blogging friends today's special post is for the Betty's Boudoir Series 1 challenge here at:
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.849574975059892&type=1
in the SimplyB Facebook fan page.  This is a fun group to belong to where you can share your artwork from simplybstamps.net website.  Just copy and past the link to be taken there.  This was such a fun collection to color and make cards with.  I did some airbrushing for several of the backgrounds and tried to tie in a color theme as I created each card with the image I colored.  I used copics with a wide variety of colors and skin combination colors.  Please let me know if you would like me to share my recipes and let me know which image or if you want all of them. All of these images are from the Betty Boudoir Series 1 collection.  The first card  is All Polished Up Betty she's polishing those nails, but I thought the color splats would be a fun way to showcase this cute little gal.  The second creation is Bubble Bath Betty enjoying her luxurious candle light bubble bath.  The third card is Morning Mess Betty, I tried to make the sentiment look like it had coffee stains similar to the background paper I chose.  The fourth card is Perfume Betty giving herself a spritz of her favorite scent, if you look closely I added a little shimmer spray from her perfume bottle.  The fifth card is Powder Puff Betty, what color says pamper me better than purple? :)  The sixth and final card in this series is Shoe Obsession Betty, I gave her some fishnet stockings to add some pizzazz to her legs.  I hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather this weekend!  Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Hugs,
Helen

Sweet things

I created this little cutie for the Simply Challenged Challenge over at: http://simplychallengedchallenges.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/challenge-march-10th.html  It's for anything polka dots.  Although the dots on the image do not count as part of the piece, I used a polka dot ribbon with polka dot heart stickers to tie in the theme.  I had to add dots to the dress, just added a nice touch.  I colored this cutie with Copics.  I used an Anna Griffin gold frame and some random ribbon and hearts stickers.  Until next time, happy crafting!

Treasure Chest Sheri

Last, but not least is Treasure Chest Shari.  As much fun as I had creating the other two, this one was my favorite because I got to use some different media.  I used Copics for the coloring so please let me know if you want to know my color scheme for this one.  I used "A Beautiful World" paper for the map background, parchment card stock, and cork for the water by DCWV.  I drew and cut out the waves myself.  I also used some fun stickers from Paper Studio for her bags of  booty and stickles gold glitter in the sand.  I tried to tie all three of these lovelies together by giving them each a pirate sword.  Well I hope you've enjoyed this collection as much as I've enjoyed coloring and creating these beauties.  Thanks for stopping by and leaving some comments.  Always appreciate the visits!
Hugs,
Helen

Rum Pirate Corinne

This is the second of three images I am entering the in the SimplyB Pirate Wenches challenge.  This is Rum Pirate Corinne and the theme was to use twine.  I tried to lace the twine around the image to look like it was tied onto her then added some barrels and a cute little brad.  This too was colored with Copics, I used a lot of the same colors that Cannon Pirate Betty was colored in except for the hair which I used Y32, YR23, 24 and 27.  I used YG25, 17 and G28 on the eyes.  It was a lot of fun choosing papers for this one, I used Parchment for the card stock, Paper Studio "A Beautiful World" for the overall background and Recollections Espresso for burlap looking paper to offset it.  Hope you enjoy the second of my three images.  Thanks once again for stopping by and for your comments.
Hugs,
Helen

Pirate Cannon Betty

This blog post is one of three for the Pirate Wenches challenge over at:   http://simplybettystamps.blogspot.com/2014/03/fan-page-challenge.html
If you want to join in on the fun you can find these great images at Simplybstamps.net.  The first of three is Pirate Cannon Betty who is supposed to have a skull theme so I added the skull flag and a little blingy skull for fun.  I used my Copics for coloring the image E000, E01, E04, and E11 for the skin, E71, E74, E77 and V99 for the hair, B37 and 39 for the blues and R29 and 39 for the reds.  I used stickles for the glittered up portions of the flag and gold for the wick.  All comments are welcome and appreciated. :)
